Want to submit your own story?

It's very simple and easy to do!

You may also find it helpful to first browse the True Stories for general ideas and inspiration for your own story.

Then you simply need to draft a short summary of your story idea through the Nominate Story. That's it!

The GenBonds editorial team members will review your story idea. If the story is likely to fulfil the GenBonds eligibility criteria that are outlined below, then you will be invited to submit a draft story through the GenBonds website.

If necessary, some of the GenBonds project team members may also volunteer their support along the way.

The final editing and publishing will be performed by a member of GenBonds editorial team.

What type of stories are eligible?

The stories must be related to a TRUE event, novel aspect, or unusual incident in the older person's life, which they cherish and are happy to share with their family, friends and community. A family member or members (preferably younger ones) capture and write the story in their own words, usually in English.

The story has to be fairly short. Typically, maximum 2-3 sides on A4 paper (font size 10-11 points). The story can also be supported with pictures and illustrations - we encourage hand-drawn images, especially by younger persons.

Please refer to the House Rules section on Story Content for more detailed guidance.

How will GenBonds measure its success?

The GenBonds project is an ongoing initiative that is open to all (please refer to the section on House Rules).

Along with the number of stories, contributors and supporters, GenBonds' true success will be based on the priceless human bonds that it is helping to engender. So whether it's just one story or one-million that we manage to foster, we really don't mind.

Can I also become a more active GenBonds team member?
